The New Amplified Pilgrim's Progress Part 2: Christiana

This story is an allegory of the Christian's experiences in life. If you read "The Pilgrim's Progress," then you'll understand that this is part 2. In "The Pilgrim's Progress," a man named Christian leaves the City of Destruction in order to travel to the Celestial City (heaven). In "Christiana," this man's wife (named "Christiana") finally realizes the error of her ways and wishes she had gone with her husband to the Celestial City. He conscience is grieved until one day she receives a royal invitation to the very same Celestial City. She and their four sons and a neighbor embark on the trip together. The book has lots of metaphors for different challenges a person experiences in life. The characters are constantly quoting scripture to overcome obstacles and to encourage one another. This is one of the characteristics of the book that I loved! The book is extremely inspiring. A great Christian fiction book. I would recommend it.
